BREAKING NEWS: Foundation Honours Legacy Donors The Jewish Community Foundation held a Book of Life signing ceremony on June 22, 2006 at the home of Jill Diamond and Andrew Abramowich. Over 60 people attended to celebrate the signing of 12 families who have established permanent endowment funds at the Foundation. On this beautiful summer evening each family signed a personal statement about what motivated them to create their endowment fund. These statements are gathered in a beautiful book kept on display at the Federation office, and the stories are also posted on the Foundation’s website. As Isaac Thau, chair of the Foundation board said at the reception, each year we as Jews gather at Yom Kippur to pray that we and the entire House of Israel be remembered and recorded in the Book of Life and for blessing, sustenance and peace. By creating permanent endowments that will support grants to charitable works across the breadth of our community, these families have taken proactive steps to ensure not only one year of life and health for our community, but a stronger future for many generations.
