Leave a Legacy

You may choose from a variety of special funds that strengthen the Jewish community while responding to your personal needs:

Unrestricted Funds:
These funds are not earmarked to a particular program or agency, but are available to the Foundation to fund, through its granting process, innovative projects and identified needs within the Greater Vancouver Jewish Community. The Distributions Committee employs a vigorous grant application and evaluation system in allocating the income from unrestricted funds. All recommended grants must be approved by the Board of Trustees.
Minimum Donation: $5,000

Philanthropic Funds:
These donor-advised funds allow the donor to make recommendations, during their lifetime as to how the Trustees should distribute the income from their fund. After their lifetime a successor of their choice, including a member of their family, may carry on this important legacy. The donor may recommend a distribution to any properly constituted charitable organization provided its mandate is not contrary to the goals and aspirations of the Jewish community. The Trustees have consistently ratified the recommendations and wishes of the donors of philanthropic funds.
Minimum Donation: $10,000

Designated Funds:
These funds are specifically directed to an agency/agencies, that are chosen by the donor at the time the fund is established. All distributable income is disbursed to the designated recipient(s).
Minimum Donation: $10,000

Under this category fall Field of Interest Funds, which are funds designated for a broad mandate: ie. Jewish education, Scholarships for Israel, Jewish continuity.
Minimum donation: $5,000
